For me, hammer dulcimer has always been a beautiful and enchanting instrument. The dulcimer used on this CD is over 100 years old. I needed to carve a dozen triangular bridges from ebony to replace the warped original treble bridge. I also needed to replace most of the strings to make it playable again.

Once I had returned the instrument to playing condition, I undertook to write a composition that would reflect the beauty of the instrument. I hope I have succeeded. I am planning to include this piece on an upcoming full length CD entitled "The Winds of Change".

I entitled this piece "For Her" because it reflects for me the very special beauty every woman possesses. I hope you, the listener, enjoy hearing this music as much as I have enjoyed creating it. Thank you for listening.
